52 Days

Israel, known as historical homeland of the Jewish people, has welcomed Jews from all corners of the earth who hope to find a better life in the Jewish State. Operations Moses, Joshua and Solomon brought en masse the Beta Israel, or the Ethiopian Jews. One memorable program brought in Iraqi Jews in 2003, 52 years after most Jews left Iraq and the doors close due to political tensions in the Middle East. The first direct flight from Iraq to Israel took off in Baghdad on July 27, 2003 and landed at Ben Gurion Airport. The program helped make broken families whole once again in the land of Israel.
